Literature Text

as we sit by the fire,
intertwined like vines,
i lean over to tell you
"i'm glad you're mine"

a peck on the lips,
and i'm on my way.
i have tons of stuff to do,
and i'll be gone all day

when lunchtime comes around,
i give you a ring,
you answer the phone,
"we don't want anything"

i laugh and tell you
"you're the best,
but i have to go now,
there's work on my desk"

you beg me to stay,
then finally give in
"wake me up when you get home
i don't care when"

i hang up the phone,
and miss your voice already
i can't wait to get home
and hug you, my teddy

a few hours later,
i'm on my way out
when i hear someone yelling,
a terrified shout

i rush to the scene,
and i can't believe what i see
you've been murdered,
because you came to meet me

a simple gesture
aimed to please
now your life is gone,
like a soft, sweet breeze

i lay over your lifeless body
wishing i was in your place
then i lean over quietly,
and once more kiss your sweet face.
i wrote this.

hence it being my work.

and i dunno...i seem to write somber poetry when i'm lonely.

which i'm not.
